Hello everyone! Last week was a great start to the semester. I look forward to getting to know everyone! I will be placing many different things on the blog this week so keep a look out. Last week we studied the 5 Themes of Geography, Latitude and Longitude, obtained textbooks, reviewed various things about the globe, and discussed the syllabus.
Monday- Latitude Longitude Review of Quizzes from Friday. Extra practice if needed. (based on quiz grades). Set up notebooks. Scavenger hunt if time permits.
Tuesday- 5 Themes of Geography and Latitude Longitude Official Quiz. (Open Note). We will take a look at the relationship between the earth and the Sun using a video, the textbook, and open discussion. Graphic Organizer on Ch. 3 Sections 1 and 2.
Wednesday-, Time Zones Warm-up, Bill Nye the Science Guy Video on Plate Tectonics, Periodic Glaciation, Radiometric Dating, Global Warming, and Cosmic Radiation. Video Guided Questions.
Thursday- Ch. 2 Reading Study Guide Ch. 2 Review Game. Playing for StarBucks. Go over the Video Questions from Wednesday.
Friday- Landforms, Landforms, Landforms...Discussion. Illustration by Interactive Powerpoint. Students will create mini-landforms out of clay.
Homework: Be familiar with the contents of Ch.1-3. I will give you a study guide to start working on because we will be having a test over this part of Unit 1 next week. Have a good weekend.
