Unit 6 Test is Monday, November 17. Please remember to come by my room before school if you need help with any of the material on the test.

We will begin WWII this week and will begin doing research on our decades project. Remember, you will be doing a comprehensive project on all aspects of your assigned decade: political, economic, social, leaders, world affairs, conflicts, cultural trends, and many, many more. One of the assessments will be your use of lab time so please stay focused and don't waste valuable time in the lab. Select partners who will do their fair share!

So far your WWI Newspapers have been excellent! Your articles are thorough, well-written, and the papers are beautifully designed and well organized. Great job!

The standard for our WWII unit is SSUSH19 - details can be found at http://www.georgiastandards.org
This unit includes the age of Industrialization, Immigration and Urbanization, the transformation of the South and West, the Gilded Age and the Progressive Era. You will be taking quite a few notes on these chapters in class so you will not need your book. You will have outside readings to do at home.

The standards for this unit are: SSUSH11, SSUSH12, SSUSH13. Specific details can be found at the following website: http://www.georgiastandards.org

Outside reading selections: Industrialization and Child Labor, John D. Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, J.P. Morgan, Social Darwinism, Karl Marx, Ellis Island, Joseph Pullitzer, William Randolph Hearst, Battle of Little Bighorn, Wounded Knee, Upton Sinclair's The Jungle. These will be supplemental articles (to be read at home) for chapters 13 - 17.

Your Civil War Journals are due Monday. Please review the checklist before you submit your journal to be sure you have done everything correctly. Don't forget to include the Reconstruction era. The journals will be half off if they are turned in late!

You should be visiting the Georgia Department of Education website and examining the EOCT study guide. This test counts as 15% of your entire grade and will be here before you know it.

Have a great week!
