Zinsser Presentations. Great job so far! We will finish these on Monday OR Tuesday, so be sure to bring your presentation materials on both days.

F451 Assessment: Hint! Be sure to carefully read from page 140 to the end. What is the tone? Notice some analogies, allusions, details, and choice of diction and how these rhetorical devices contribute to the tone.

Assignments:

Answer these questions:

1. Instead of a traditional thesis statement, Sagan uses two rhetorical questions in his opening paragraph. What advantages - and disadvantages - does the technique have? Try writing a thesis state to replace Sagan's questions.

2. At the end of his essay, Sagan raises questions about the legal rights of apes. Respond to these questions in either an essay, bulleted points, or a journal format (no more than 2 pages).

3. Where are the rhetorical questions, and what purpose do they serve?
