May 11 Landscape Design
The last couple of weeks!!!!!! All students should be working on their Landscape Desgn Final Project.This is a real customer that we went out last Monday May 4 and measured in the rain. For SENOIRS this is due Tuesday as you will present your plan to Mrs/Mr Hwangbo. Juniors you will present yours on on Thursday May 21.
The final will include, the drawing, a typed plant list and 1 detail. Please contact me if you have ANY concerns. Thank you, Ms H

May 4 Landscape Design
We have our FT on Monday!! Meet at 8:30 at 317 Julia Drive Powder Springs. This is our landscape design customer for our FINAL. I will meet you at the site or at HHS during homeroom, which ever you worked out, we will measure & take photos. WE WILL be back at HHS by 10:00 you will not be missing ANY classes.
We will work on this project for the remainder of the semester, each student will present their inidividual project to the customer durring class for your final grade.

April 27 Design
We are working on the Jed Clampet project, which is due Friday. The project includes 1 bubble diagram on trash paper. One rough design sketch on trash paper and a final landscape design that meets the customers needs on a peice of drafting paper with a title block. Plant Sale is also this week!!!!!

April 20 Landscape Design
The containers outside Admin II look GREAT!
Moinday we will review chapter 16 Designing Landscapes & discuss the prinicpals of design.
Tuesday Jed Clampet Project- this a design project to meet the customers requirements and actually design something!! We will be working on this for 1 week.
Honors Day is Thursday
Please try to get your plants out of the GH this week, so they will not be sold next week at the plant sale.

April 13 Landscape Design
Welcome Back, I hope you enjoyed Spring Break 09! We are on the home stretch and the week ahead looks like this…..
Monday: return container designs and perform a cost analysis
Tuesday: weird 10th grade testing schedule, you guys will read a chapter on designing landscapes and answer a work sheet, This is REALLY important so please actually read the material.
Wednesday: we meet for an hour, so we will discuss the chapter
Thursday/Friday: we will plant the 2 containers outside Admin II and we will look at pictures of landscapes & architecture

March 30 Landscape Design
Ahhh the week before Spring Break & The Plant Sale!!!
Monday we will look at Land Use Classification and perform a class senerio.
I hope to have your Home Landscapes returned, the final phase of this project is to label the plant material, final due date to be posted. NO LATE PROJECTS ACCEPTED.
We will also be selling plants and working on a container design for the front of Admin II.
Tell every one you know to come buy a plant!!!

March 23 Landscape Design
The cookout was a great way to welcome spring! Thank you to everyone for your contributions.
This week is graduation tests for all jrs. that means all Seniors from Landscape Design will be relocated to Automotive classroom while I have hall duty on Monday & Wednesday. Therfore we will not meet on those days. We will meet on Tuesday & Thursday for appx 40 minutes and things go back to normal on Friday.
Your home Landscape projects were due on Thursday March 19. I will be reviewing them and we will put the finishing touches on them after I reveiw them.
Due to the odd schedule we will look at slides & power points as time permits this week so one is left behind.

March 16 Landscape Design
This week all students will be completeing their home landscape, This should include:
Property & house this is your base map, all things that do not move
Photos of your home, directions were posted last week and will be mopunted on a 1/2 sheet of poster paper.
Lastly, all students are to draw the ALL of the plants in their home lanscape. Please bring samples of the plants you are unable to identify and I am happy to help you.
This project is due on Thursday March 19
We will celebrate the first day of spring with a cook out on Friday

March 9 Landscape Design
We are working on your home landscape.....by Monday March 9 each student will have drawn their property line and house on the paper. Bring in photos of you home landscape 2 from each angle, what you see out the front/back door as wellas what others see from the street. Also include one picture from each side of the house.
We will mount the photos in class today.
Tuesday: each student will bring in an updated resume. Begin to identify plant materials in your yard. Please bring in samples and I will be happy to help you identify your plants. Begin placing the plants on your landscape.
Wednesday: Continue drawing your home landscape Resume corrections due!!
Thursday: Career Fair our class will attend, this is where your updated resume comes in handy!!
Friday: Home Landscape Drawing Projects are due. Please contact me if you have any problems, Ms. H
March 2 Landscape Design
This week we will be working on drawing your home landscape. Ask your parents if they have a Plat Plan, it would be in there closing papers. I will make a copy and give back. This will help you see where your house is located on your property as well a sacle that it is drawn in. If you do not have one, it is OK, you may check out a measuring wheel from me and measure your property.
Please photograph your home, directions were given out on Friday. They simply say to photograph your hourse from the front, back & sides. Please take at least 2 pictures per area; 1 facing ther house and the other with your back to the house. Think about the sun direction. We have Early Release on Tuesday. Feb 9 Landscape Design
We are moving on to Landscape Design this week. The weather is going to be AWESOME so we will start the week with a lecture on pruning and then prune!!!! So dress accordingly. We should start design Wednesday or Thursday. I am in the process of grading your Nursery projects, a few of you still need to turn those in. Let me know if you need help with anything.
