Finals = Seniors will be Monday during class period, Underclassmen final:3rd on Thursday & 4th on Friday.
We are once again weather dependant... so we will do 3 things week in addition to the final exam.

This week....
Monday notes on Polutry
Tuesday Cookout, we are cooking polutry - please bring $5.00 or your assigned item in oder to make the event a success.
Wednesday - Friday topics are: Protecting the Environment & Organic Agriculture. Senior Finals will be Teusday May 9 and will cover the last 2 topics.
We will also be doing some misc weeding and GH work.

May 4 Ag Science
We are regrouping this week after the plant sale last week! Expect to take notes, review & have a quiz. Topics are Nursery, Landscape, Floriculture & Forrestry. We will begin our polutry unit this week as well. We will have a cookout. I am unsure of the date. It looks like rain/showers everyday this week...............
Check your gardens for germination and a little replanting as necessary
We may have a one or two day plant sale for Mother's Day on Thursday/Friday.
We need to go a lot of directions to finish up the semester so be prepared for just about anything!!

This is plant sale week, tell your parents, friends & neighbors!!! We will be working on various projects this week and trying to clean up tools, touching up mulch, watering and selling plants.

I have finally recorded all grades and everyone is now current... I am sorry for the delay.
The week ahead looks like this, we have 3 topics to cover Forest Science, Nursery Production and Poultry Science.
We will also work on our outside porjects and prepare for the plant sale. We are subject to the weather so PLEASE be prepared with shoes or extra shirt etc,

Monday: check your veggie seeds!!! Return your PGP, go back a review Beef cows and try to finish this unit…..
Tuesday: weird 10th grade testing schedule, we meet for about an hour
Wednesday: more weird 10th grade testing schedule, possible quiz over beef cattle
Thursday/Friday: we will cover The Forrest & Nursery Indusrty
We have another plant sale the week of April 20 so we will go back to the outside projects we had been working on and try to plant our gardens!!

The Plant Sale !! Please tell everyone you know to come buy a plant!!!
We will be working on physical projects and selling plant and hopefully planting some veggie seeds for our summer gardens. Please DRESS ACCORDINGLY, CLOSED TOED SHOES!

The cookout was a great way to welcome spring! Thank you to everyone for your contributions.
This week is graduation tests for all Jrs. This creates an odd schedule Monday through Thursday. We will be working on tools & equipment this week. Hopefully, the weather will cooperarte! You MUST HAVE SHOES (no sandels or flip flops) to operate tools & equipment, please bring them and you may want an extra shirt, you might get dirty.......... we are also getting for the Plant Sale the following week so spread the word! We will wrap up our Dairy unit with a quiz on Monday. We will start a new unit on Beef & Livestock production.
This will consist of a video & notes, lecture notes, terms and power point.
We will celebrate the first day of spring with a cook out on Friday.
Tuesday will also be your 28 observation for your PGP. We will begin repotting the plants into larger pots followed by a cost analysis and a written project. Feb 12 Ag Science
We will review on Monday and pull all of the information together that we have learned. TEST on Tuesday. We will be wrapping up our unit on plant structures with a salad. Students will select a plant they wish to eat and add to a class salad. Students will complete an information sheet on their plant this week and bring it in to class on Friday!

Feb 17 Ag Science
Welcome back! We are sill working on our plant science unit. We are working our way up the plant. We still have reproduction both sexual & asexual. In this basic botany unit we have incorperated some plant propagation with your PGP(persoanl growing project). All students should have researched this on Friday Feb 13 in the computer lab. We will begin propagating your project on Tueday. Please keep in mind there is atype written report required at the end of the growing portion which should be appx 30 days. It is under the evaluation portion of your PGP packet.
This part is a lot of fun ! This is a lab, so proper CLOSED TOED SHOES are REQUIRED, No flip flops, sandels etc.
You may bring in an old yuckie pair of shoes and keep them in the classroom. This way you will never have to worry about haveing the right shoes or lose any of your work ethics points!!

This week we will continue our unit on basic botany. We will go through plant evolution and then parts of the plant.
Friday we research our PGP (personal growing project) and begin propagating your plants on Tuesday as Monday the 16 is President's Day. Please contact me if you are absent I do not want you to miss any of this material.

It is Ground Hog Day! Will General Lee see his shadow?
We are finishing our soils unit this week. Monday we read and discuss an article "Dirt Poor"
Tuesday: discuss ways to improve soil.
Wednesday: soils quiz & Early Release
Thursday & Friday: Classsification of living systems, then begin our unit on Plants followed by propagation. This will get us in the direction to grow plants and begin some "working" projects!!!

Monday: read 1/2 the chapter, define terms & worksheet
Tuesday:read the remaining part of the chapter, define terms & worksheet
Wednesday: Walk and look at soils if weather permits, review flower show assignments
Thursday: The SE Flower Show at the Cobb Galleria Center!!!!
Friday:Discuss Flower Show, possible soils quiz if we finish the material.

Jan 20 Agriculture Science & Technology
We are continueing our work on chapter 2, History of Agriculture.
We will watch part of the Inaguration activites on Tuesday.
** Extra Credit*** Find out who has been nominated as the Sec of Agriculture. What are some responsibilites and or job description for the Sec of Agriculture? In order to receive extra credit you must print the information from a web site and bring it to class on TUESDAY. 10pts.!!!!

** Elective Science Credit**
Class: Instruction, which emphasizes group and individualized learning.
Lab: Instruction which emphasizes teacher assisted learning as well as structured activities requiring the application and practice of occupational competencies. Lab will consist of demonstrations and practical performance.
Course Description: This course is designed as an introduction or support course for the Agriscience Pathway
Program of Study. The course introduces the major areas of scientific agricultural production and
research; presents problem solving lessons and introductory skills and knowledge in agricultural
science and agri-related technologies. Classroom and laboratory activities are supplemented
through supervised agricultural experiences and leadership programs and activities.
Course Requirements:
Attendance: Due to the nature and scheduling of this course your attendance and participation is highly recommended.
Labs: Labs require various physical activities, proper dress, clean up and safety is extremely important.
Work Ethics: This is how much effort, initiative, and the ability to follow through that you put forth.
Make up work: Make up work is the responsibility of the student. The student must take the initiative to make arrangements for missed material, labs or exams within 3 days of an excused absence. (See H book)
Cheating: Any student caught cheating or attempting to cheat will receive a zero for the assignment and will receive a U in conduct for the semester and parents will be contacted. (See H book)
