Monday and Tuesday, the 8th and 9th of September

Monday-I am sorry that I was out, but I was at an awesome Teacher inservice workshop-You practiced oral questions for about 5-10 minutes
-please complete pages 22 and 23 in their workbooks;activities7,8,9
-copy the vocab on p.197-friendship and love and also copy the vocab on p.203-resolving problems with friends
-they should then complete workbook p.57,act 6-8 ,p.60, acts. 13 and 14 and ex. 5, p.214 in the text.
-continue reading El Misterio de la Llave-chapters 3 and 4 depending on where they are
-review for quiz that wasn't taken on Friday--
Tuesday
You all did 2 great communicative activities orally and then began organizing notes for Theme #1 Test on Friday.

Monday, the 18th of August

-Today we discussed more uses of the verbs estar, hay and tener. We practiced with ir +a +infinitive and tener+que+infinitive examples related to you all.
-We reviewed ser + adjectives and talked about the importance of noun/adjective agreement.
-we learned more expressions to discuss the weather and temperature extremes around the world.
-you all did an activity using weather expressions in pairs.
Homework:complete an activity to help you prepare to sing about the contries and capitals that speak Spanish!

April 24-30

Monday-you finished your group presentation and song singing about Legends--I introduced the vocabulary dealing with theatre(173) and art(163&165) and we discussed the gender of some nouns.
tarea; write 5 questions that you would ask a rebel commander of a brutal civil war using the vocab given in class
Tuesday--you turned in the homework and it was returned highlighted for you to correct at home(come see me in the morning if you do not understand what was incorrectly done) for full credit.We went over the new vocab and did the cuaderno exs 46-47 act 1-3 together in class. We went to the Lab and visited www.miscositas.com and read more legends, fables and myths. You completed yet another organizer for 4 of those read. tarea:study new vocab!!
Wednesday--we will discuss the need for the subjunctive with hopes and wishes and after expressions of doubt, and sang the class song(caigo/conozco) to review some of the irregularites in regard to its formation. We did ex.3,p.179 and and ex 5,p.150 to review. We also reviewed direct and indirect object pronouns and practiced together on the board(white boards)--especially with the double objects!
Tarea: worksheet with pronouns and subjunctive practice
Thursday--we went over the homework and then reviewed Theme 5 with one of those cool word put together puzzles! I explained and you took Cornell Notes on the Test Material. We did several Listening Activities . Tarea:study for theme test
Friday--introduce our last tema for the semester--Global Issues--we discuss and go over the new vocabulary-341 and then checked out some pretty scary commentary of the state of our planet!

AVID
Monday-we talked about what happened on Friday. I passed out the Vocab buiding worksheet to complete with the last 20 of the top 100 SAT vocab words. They should be done by Tuesday.
Tuesday and Thursday -Of course, these are tutorial days!
Wednesday-You worked on the group activity with the HHS Guidance web page and presented your findings and explained how this all relates to YOU!
Friday-Oh, we will share some inspiration and motivation on this day!
