Wednesday, the 27th of August

Spanish 3
-we reviewed the healthy living vocabulary (throughout chapter 2) and listened to several people discuss their habits for healthy living.
-we corrected the homework(workbook exercises) to ensure understanding of the concepts reviewed
-you all worked on an oral conversation --
-we continued to review the uses of the preterite and reviewed how hacer is used in the preterite--
Spanish 2
-we all sang a catchy tune using estar and ser and several of the uses of each verb-
-you all answered some questions about the Andalucia reading on p. 1,2,3,4-please take some time to google up some of the places mentioned-it really is an AWESOME place!
-you all then did several exercises using either ser, estar, or tener, and we went over each.
-you then did a few more ser or estar exercises --
homework: study for quiz tomorrow over uses and forms of ser, estar, and tener

Tuesday, the 26th of August

Spanish 3
-we continued to review the present tense of stem change and irregular yo form verbs
-you wrote a short composition about your family using new vocabulary on family and emotions
-we reviewed the workbook pages in 2nd and in 5th I assigned pl 2,3&4, p5, ex.9,11 p4 ex.7&8,p.8,ex.16,17,18
and p. 12 ex.5&6 using new vocabulary about living a healthy life-p.39/41
-you all began to prepare a short conversational skit using given structures and vocabulary--

-we continued to review the present tense forms of regular verbs as well as ser and estar. We reviewed the last night homework in the workbook to ensure understanding.
-you all completed a worksheet using verbs like gustar-
-you began to prepare for an oral assessment--

Monday, the 25th of August

Spanish 3
-We discussed the weekend and eased in to a reminder of how and when to use the preterite. we reviewed with regular verbs, ir and ser, and -car -gar and -zar verbs orally and with notes and exercises to accompany.
-You all went to the lab and practiced proficiency with the preterite on conjuguemos.com

-I collected the homework from the workbook and returned last weeks quizzes. I explained verbs like gustar again, and gave you a sheet explaing them well. We went over it, and then you all wrote 10 sentences with different subjects to show me that you understand the concept.
-We went to the lab and on the book site-www.go.hrw.com you all reviewed in Chapter 1 adjective agreement, verbs like gustar, and countries,capitals and nationalities.

-we continued to review verbs like gustar with several oral activities-
-You all read El Secreto de la Llave in groups, and then completed a graphic organizer to help comprehension-
-I issued workbooks today=
=we did a quiz review of tener expressions and did a speaking activity using them-
Spanish 2
-We continued to review ser and estar and use both to reinforce--
-I gave you a copy of the writing assignment rubric and then returned the graded paragraphs from Wednesday and you corrected any mistakes.
-we reviewed tener expressions, tener + que + infinitive and ir +a+ infinitive and you all had to decide which to use in given sentences.

Thursday, the 21st of August

Spanish 3
-we continued review of verbs like gustar in class and then went to the lab to review online-you will have a quiz over these tomorrow!
-you all wrote and shared original sentences with the yo form present tense irregular verbs. You also reviewed these online, and sang a catch tune to help you remember them!
-we played bingo with sports and hobbies vocabulary-
-homework: review for tomorrow's quiz!
Spanish 2
-we reviewed countries, capitals, and adjectives of nationality for the quiz tomorrow. We sang that great song again to help-I learned a nice acronym from you all for Central America-My Goriilla Eats Hamburgers Nightly Causing Pain.NICE!!!
-we continued discussing the many uses of the verb tener and did lots of exercises to reinforce.
-We discussed again the ser/estar similarities and differences, and you all wrote examples of each.
-We discussed weather expressions again, and practiced with them yet again.
-Homework: study for quiz, and review ser,.estar, tener

Wednesday, the 20th of August

Spanish 3-
-word of the day, of course!
-you all shared your verb like gustar sentence and expression and took notes from the others presented.
-we read a bit about La Coruña and then reviewed saber and conocer with reading, writing , and listening activities
-we reviewed the countries and capitals and adjectives of nationality of the people that speak Spanish
-we sang the song and reviewed irregular first person verbs
Homework: review for quiz over countries/capitals/irregular yo forms of present tense verbs and verbs like gustar on Friday!

Spanish 2
-we continued to review the countries and capitals with our catch tune!
-we worked on the differences in usage of the verbs ser and estar
-you all presented your own Who am I? and we tried to guess about whom you described. You all did a great job!
-we talked about the verb tener
-Homework: study for Friday quiz over countries/capitals and adjectives of nationality

Spanish 3
-we reviewed the past times and hobbies that we discussed yesterday. Lots of sharing using verbs like gustar.
-We did two reading exercises, using the new vocabulary.
-You did an activity using stem changing verbs.
Tarea: write a personal letter similiar to Miguel's using your personal information.

Spanish 2
-we reviewed the verbs ser, estar, tener. We talked about different constructions using the three activities.
-You all took the Pre-Test.
-We did a few who am I? activities in Spanish.
Homework: Write a brief 5 sentence who am I-bring a picture to reveal the identity!t has to be someone famous and well known!

Monday, the 18th of August

-Today we discussed more uses of the verbs estar, hay and tener. We practiced with ir +a +infinitive and tener+que+infinitive examples related to you all.
-We reviewed ser + adjectives and talked about the importance of noun/adjective agreement.
-we learned more expressions to discuss the weather and temperature extremes around the world.
-you all did an activity using weather expressions in pairs.
Homework:complete an activity to help you prepare to sing about the contries and capitals that speak Spanish!

Spanish 3
-We discussed the weekend after going over the word of the day.
-We reviewed irregular verbs in the present tense with a little ditty to help you remember!
-We continued to learn and practice with verbs like gustar using strips of paper with them in which you adapted the expression to fit you personally.
-We began reading the first chapter of El Misterio de La Llave in reading groups, and you all filled out a graphic organizer to help you keep up with the story.
Homework: using your book, write down the Primer Paso vocabulary(p.31) in English and Spanish either on a graphic organizer I have available in class, notecards, or whatever format works best for you to study.

¡Hola! I am excited to be your Spanish teacher this Semester!
I am teaching Spanish 2 during 3rd block, Spanish 2 during 2nd and 5th, and have 4th period planning. I am thrilled to be an advisor to the greatest 12-019 group. I will help you all to navigate seamlessly through the Senior Year.
I have been teaching all levels(except AP) for 21 years. I share my life with my wonderful husband, Ben, and our awesome son, as well as the greatest Doodle of all time.
I love sharing my passion with the Spanish language and culture of the many people who speak Spanish.
