Turn It In.Com

Turnitin.com

You will be running your papers through Turnitin.com, a plagiarism prevention website. This is not a "gotcha," but rather a learning experience to help you be able to understand what needs citing and how to avoid plagiarism.

Please download the document below and follow the instructions for signing up for turnitin.com.

Once you have done this, you must run your first persuasive paper through the site and print out your origninality report. Because you only have a few days until Wednesday, you may turn in your originality report (on the same paper you turn in on Wednesday) by Friday.

Note: the paper is still due to me in class on Wednesday, but the report can be handed in later if necessary. This will be the only time you may hand in a report "late." For all other papers in this class, you will run them through TurnItIn.

Oxford English Dictionary Online

The Oxford English Dictionary is one of the most useful resources when we delve into language. It is almost as important to know where a word came from as it does what it means. Please take time to delve into symbolism by looking up important words in the OED online! ;)
