MEETING MINUTES 11-11-08


1. FOOD PANTRY DONATIONS

ALL food pantry donations were due by the end of the day on Tuesday, November 11th. Be sure you bring your donations AND receipt to Mrs. Dau (Room 120) OR Ms. Moore (Room 418) before 4:00pm on November 11th for credit.


2. STILL ELEMENTARY FALL FESTIVAL ~
FRIDAY, November 14th, 2008 (5:30pm-8:30pm)

Members had a chance to sign-up to work this event at both the morning and afternoon meetings. IF you signed up, please look for an email from hhsbetaclub@yahoo.com for additional information about this service opportunity.

3. WEST RIDGE CHURCH SERVICE OPPORTUNITY ~ Sunday, December 21st, 2008 (4:00pm-7:00pm)

West Ridge Church needs volunteers to help at a Christmas event that is being sponsored by the church in conjuncture with Toys for Tots, Paulding County Services and A Fresh Hope on Sunday, December 21st from 4-7pm. This event will provide food boxes and toys for needy families in Cobb and Paulding counties. There will also be crafts, refreshments and games for the children that come.

Members had a chance to sign-up to work this event at both the morning and afternoon meetings. IF you signed up, please look for an email from hhsbetaclub@yahoo.com for additional information about this service opportunity.

4. BETA CLUB INDUCTION INVITATION DISTRIBUTION
~ Wednesday, November 19th (7:25am-8:25am)

SENIOR Beta Members are needed to distribute Beta Club Induction Invitations to new members for our Fall Induction Ceremony. Members had a chance to sign-up to work this event at both the morning and afternoon meetings. All of those who signed up need to report to Room 120 by 7:25am on Wednesday, November 19th to receive their invitations to distribute as well as instructions for the distribution.

5. BETA CLUB INDUCTION WORKERS NEEDED

Our Beta Club Fall Induction Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, December 10th. We will need workers to sign up for set-up, program distribution, and clean-up. Any Beta Club members interested in working this induction ceremony needs to come to Mrs. Dau's Room (120) and sign up on the sheet on her door. First come, first serve for this opportunity.

MEETING MINUTES 10-7-08


1. BETA CLUB BLOOD DRIVE

We are still accepting donor sheets!!!

Our goal is to have 109 pints of blood donated. As of Thursday, 10/9 we only had 99 donors signed up. There were ~50 more slots open for donors. If you know more people who want to donate, please complete a donor form and bring it to Mrs. Dau's Room (120) ASAP.

The last day to submit a donor form has been extended to Tuesday, October 14th.

PASSES FOR DONORS AND VOLUNTEERS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED THROUGH ADVISEMENTS ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 14th, 2008... please be sure you are in homeroom on Tuesday to receive yours.

PARENTAL CONSENT FORMS FOR 16-YEAR OLDS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED TO THOSE DONORS ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 13th, 2008.


2. CLUB PICTURE DAY ~ Tuesday, October 14th, 2008 (3:30pm in Gym 1)

Club Pictures are being done a little differently this year. We would like to encourage all members to meet in Gym 1 at 3:30pm on Tuesday, October 14th to be in our club picture that will go in the yearbook. A reminder email will be sent out about this as well.

3. Bullard Elem. Fall Festival ~ October 18th, 2008 (12:00pm-5:00pm)

Members had a chance to sign-up to work this event at both the morning and afternoon meetings. If you still want to sign-up, see Mrs. Dau in Room 120.

Those members who signed up to work the Bullard Elementary Fall Festival should be checking their email regularly. You should receive an email from hhsbetaclub@gmail.com stating specifics about this event.

4. Due West Fall Festival ~ October 25th, 2008 (11:00pm-3:00pm)

Members had a chance to sign-up to work this event at both the morning and afternoon meetings on 9-16-08. If you still want to sign-up, see Mrs. Dau in Room 120.

Those members who signed up to work the Due West Fall Festival should be checking their email regularly. You should receive an email from hhsbetaclub@gmail.com stating specifics about this event.

5. Food Pantry Donations

We will be collecting the following food items until November 11th, 2008 for the McEachern Methodist Food Pantry:
~ Oatmeal
~ Cereal
~ Tuna
~ Canned Chicken
~ Canned beans
(specifically peas, pintos, butterbeans, black-eyed peas, and mixed canned veggies)

Please bring donations and receipts to Mrs. Dau's Room (120) or Ms. Moore's Room (418) before 8:15am any morning.

You MUST have your receipt in order for your credits to be determined... HALF a credit will be earned for each $5 in donations made. A maximum of 5 credits may be earned by any member through this endeavor.


6. Beta Club Dues

Members inducted in 2007 (Seniors) owe $5 in Beta Club Dues.
Members inducted in 2008 (Juniors) have already paid their 2008 dues and don't owe this semester.

Please see Mrs. Dau (Room 120) or Ms. Moore (Room 418)
before 8:15am any morning to pay your dues.

ALL dues must be paid BEFORE the next meeting (11/11/08).

    Need extra forms??? See Mrs. Dau in Room 120
    PLEASE NOTE:Volunteers forms handed in first will be given priority with respect to preferred jobs and blocks... For every hour you work you will receive one service credit.

  2. Donor Forms DUE TO MRS. DAU (Room 120) by 3:30pm on Wednesday, October 1st, 2008
    Need extra forms??? See Mrs. Dau in Room 120
    PLEASE NOTE: Donor forms handed in first will be given priority with respect to preferred jobs and blocks... For every TWO donors who SUCCESSFULLY donate, you will receive ONE miscellaneous credit. (Maximum of 3 credits)
