Dec. 1-5 Integrated II (4th Period)

Here is an outline for the remaining three weeks of the semester:

Dec. 15-19

This week, we will do a final exam review and more geometry preview lessons and activities where appropriate. The final exam will be on Friday, December 19th and will count as one test grade. It will not be over 60 questions due to already having the EOCT.

Dec. 8-12

Monday and Tuesday will be the EOCT. Part I is on Monday and Part II is on Tuesday. For the rest of the week, we will be doing some previews of geometry or remediation for the final exam next week. It will be differentiated based on individual student needs.

Dec. 1-5

This week, we will be finishing the review for the EOCT, including taking part 2 as an individual test on Tuesday. The EOCT will be next Monday and Tuesday during regular class time.

Nov. 17-21

This week, we will be doing a review of chapter 4, which is mostly on slopes, linear equations and graphs.

We will be doing a lot of test practice this week. One sample will count as a daily grade and the first part of the EOCT practice test will count as a test.

WHen we return from break on Monday, Dec. 1st, we will be taking Part II of the practice test and it will count as a test. WE have gone over those tests several times since the beginning of the semester.

--------

Nov. 10 - 14

This week, we will be working on reviewing systems of linear equations (chapter 7 from Integrated I) and reviewing all of chapters 1-7 this week. The End - of - Course Test is on December 8th and 9th. Please remember that we will be out for a week at Thanksgiving, so this leaves us only a few short weeks before then and then one week after the break to prepare. Do your best on this test and take the review seriously.

-------------------------
Nov. 3 - 7

Mon - EOCT practice Part I - Individual

finish class work from Friday - review of chapters 1 - 6 from Integrated I

Tue - Going over part I answers and explanations

Wed. - School break for students - teachers will be in training sessions

Thurs - Individual Part II of EOCT practice test

Fri - Going over part II of EOCT practice test

October 27-31

There will be a brief review and then a quiz on Monday over just long division with polynomials. After that, we will be doing a factoring review and possibly some people will do a multiplication facts speed test if they have not had at least an 80% in the past.

Most importantly, Integrated II students will have a test on simplifying, adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing rational numbers (fractions) with polynomials.
-------------
Oct. 20-24
MONDAY - review for fractions test with numbers
We did the fractions unit to prepare more for the new unit this week using more complicated fractions with polynomials
Lesson on simplifying rational expressions and multiplying rational expressions
Notebook check.
TUESDAY - Test on basic fractions
Lesson on dividing rational expressions
WEDNESDAY - long division with polynomials
adding and subtracting rational expressions with like denominators
THURSDAY - adding and subtracting rational expressions with unlike denominators
adding and subtracting mixed number polynomials (#1-8 only)
FRIDAY - solving rational equations
test review

Test Tuesday, October 28th

--------------------
Oct. 13-17
This week, we are going to be working on some basic skills involving fractions and multiplication facts. Some of the multiplication tests on basic facts will be timed. Also, notebooks will be checked on Mondays until the end of the semester. There will be a test over factoring (including trinomials, greatest common factor and difference of two squares) this Friday, October 17. The grouping problems on the factoring test will count as extra points. There will be a fractions test next Tuesday and it is involving simple computations and simplifying fractions. Calculators will not be allowed on that fractions test (Tues, Oct. 21) or the multiplication facts tests, but they will be allowed on the factoring test on Friday, October 17th.

------------

This week is mostly a review of chapter 3 equations from Integrated II.

Monday, Oct. 6 Solving Equations (using multiplication and division) and solving equations using more than one operation
Tuesday, Oct. 7 Solving Equations (with variables on both sides) and inequality number lines (just the basic concepts)
Wednesday, Oct. 8 Difficult equations
Thursday, Oct 9 Ratios and proportions
Fri. Oct 10 Some basic probability review
--------------------------
This week, we will be reviewing quadratic equations and going to a little more difficult level with it. We will also be doing a lesson on quadratic inequalities and how to graph them. There will be a review on Monday and Tuesday, and a test on Thursday.

---------------

This week, we are working on simplifying radicals and performing operations with radicals. We will also be doing basic tranformations with different functions. There will be a test over quadratics on Thursday, September 25th.
----------------------
I was on jury duty most of last week, so the schedule will be slightly adapted. There will be a quiz to complete over factoring on Monday and then we will be doing lessons this week on the quadratic formula and using the discriminant to determine how many solutions a quadratic function has. We will be doing more practice with factoring too, and students will be expected to perform that skill independently since we have been working on that for almost two weeks now. It does take a long time to master since it involves a lot of reasoning skills and guessing and checking. There will be a test on Friday, Sept. 19th.

----------------------
The test went well for every student last Thursday over exponents. After Labor Day, we will be spending Tuesday, September 2nd continuing a cumulative review that we started over all of chapters 1-8. We are beginning the next unit over quadratics, which will involve factoring, taking square roots, discriminants, and quadratic formula. This unit will take approximately two weeks. The test is tentatively set for Thursday, September 11th. God bless our country.

------------------------

Last week, we worked on notebook checks, completing tasks 5 and 7, took a quiz on sets of numbers, and 3 properties. We took 2 simple assessments on exponents. This week, we will be taking the quiz again on 3 properties and sets of numbers, but it will also include perfect squares from 0-100. This week we will be discussing exponential growth and decay, scientific notation, then testing on Wednesday. Thursday and Friday, we will be having a review over all of Integrated I plus the exponents chapter.

------------------------

Integrated II will be taking a pretest this week and begining a review of Integrated I. Fortunately, this is a very small group of students again and we should be able to provide much individualized attention. Welcome back everyone!

Sept. 22-26 Int. II
