SAT Prep - Week of December 8th

Monday - Review vocab. 7, continue with sentence completion and passage-based reading. Essay #3 - 25 mins.
Tuesday - Review blue book work, practice in blue book, study vocab. Breakfast tomorrow!
Weds. - Breakfast, Lab to type third essay.
Thursday - Vocab. 7 quiz. Packet on author's purpose. Begin review of writing section. Vocab. 1-7 test is Tuesday.
Friday - Timed Practice tests

Vocab. test 1-7 - Tuesday, Dec. 16th.
Final Exam - Thursday, Dec. 18th.

Brit. Lit. - Week of December 8th - end of semester

Research Essential Question: How can using information from primary and secondary sources (using Cobb Virtual Library) help me produce writing of appropriate organizational structure with a coherent focus? (ELA12W1, W2, W3, W4)

Ongoing Vocab and Daily Grammar Practice Essential Question: How can demonstrating correct usage of grammar and vocabulary help you improve your writing? (ELA12C1, C2)

Brave New World Essential Question: How does identifying themes, satire and plot events of Brave New World and demonstrating comprehension of same aid in our understanding of this futuristic novel? (ELABLRL1, 2, 3)

Monday - 12/8. Students take BNW quiz - ch. 1-5 and continue reading. Students in both classes will continue to read Ch. 6-11 (completing reading questions) by Friday, 12/12. In addition, students can ask me questions or go to the media center to finish needed info. for research papers.
Tuesday - 12/9. FIFTH PERIOD: Final drafts are due today/food celebration. Continue reading BNW.
Weds. - 12/10. Work on questions for BNW and character chart. Discuss propaganda and give notes. Students in 4th period will continue to ask me questions and go to the media center as needed.
Thurs. 12/11 - BNW and propaganda activity. FOURTH PERIOD : Final drafts are due Friday/food celebration. Continue reading BNW. Vocab. quiz for 5th and lit. terms if needed (for Friday).
Friday - 12/12. FOURTH PERIOD: FINAL DRAFTS DUE/FOOD DAY!! Discuss ch. 6-11 for quiz on Monday, Vocab. replacement quiz for 5th period. 4th period will take theirs on Monday, 12/15. **Read ch. 12-18 for final exam.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
No make ups after this week. ALL make up work must be done by Friday, December 12th.
Annotated Bib. reworks must be presented to me and done by Thursday, December 18th by 4:00 pm.

Monday, Tuesday and Weds. of next week will be spent reviewing, practicing DGP and completing discussion for BNW. Students will also be given the opportunity to spend time gathering info. for their persuasive essay that will be a part of their final exam. Both 4th and 5th take their final exam on Friday, December 19th. DO NOT forget your bathroom passes. They MUST be with you in class on Friday, Dec. 19th.

British Lit. - Week of Dec. 1st

FIFTH PERIOD - Students will receive their research papers on Monday with a final due date of Tuesday, Dec. 9th.

Monday - Speaker from DeVry Institute.
Tuesday - Read BNW - Chapters 2 and 3. Answer questions.
Wednesday - Intro. to poetry and continue with BNW.
Thursday - Poetry, BNW - students will have some time to work on their research paper and redos for Annot. bib.
Friday - Lit. terms quiz, BNW, poetry.

SAT Prep - Week of Dec. 1st

Monday - We reviewed Vocab. 6 exercises today and began the intro. to Critical Reading with the video and practice questions. HW: Vocab. 6 quiz
Tuesday - LAB - finish sentence completion and begin passage based reading. Vocab. 6 quiz.
Weds. - Continue passage based reading practice, sentence completion, begin vocab. 7.
Thursday - Vocab. 7, intro. to packet on author's purpose, etc.
Friday - Vocab. video, practice for passage based reading.
