Note: Research paper was not introduced last week but will be this week. Book will need to be in class by Weds. 9/3.
Monday - finish Beowulf and begin project. Vocab. 3. HW: Study
Tuesday - work on Beowulf project (review), intro. research paper. HW: Study for test and vocab. 3
Weds. - test, vocab. 3,.
Thursday - summer reading quiz, vocab. 3., begin presentations of Beowulf review
Friday - Vocab. 3 quiz, continue with presentations. Grammar review if time permits. Intro. to Medieval literature begins.
Open House for juniors is Thursday, Aug. 28th.
Monday - Work on vocab. 2, complete packet of common errors, and work on grammar in yellow book. If time permits, we will grade the essay from last week.
Tuesday - more time in the lab to work on practice quizzes for identifying sentence errors. Finish grammar. Don't forget to bring items for breakfast on Weds.
Weds. - breakfast! A good breakfast is a must on the morning of the SAT! We will work with more vocabulary today.
Thursday - review for identifying sentence errors, Lab to work on analysis, go over grammar in yellow book.
Friday - continue to review for quiz on Tuesday over identifying sentence errors.
Summer (required) reading quiz is Thursday, Aug. 28th.
Monday - Begin Vocab. 2, take Lit. terms pretest, continue with Beowulf notes and begin poem.
Tuesday - I will be out today, and I expect a good report from the sub. Continue with vocab. 2, lit. terms - look up definitions, Grammar pretest and study guide for Beowulf.
Wednesday - Vocab. 2, grammar parts of speech review, read Beowulf
Thursday - Vocab. 2, Beowulf, intro. to writing
Friday - Vocab. 2 quiz, Beowulf - finish and get in groups??, continue with grammar. Research introduction; books in class by Thursday, 8/28.

Monday - Analyze your essay plus 2 of your peers using the chart on page 105. Read/outline Ch. 10 in SAT book. Notebook check today. Vocab. quiz 1 on Weds.
Tuesday - I will be out today; please behave for the sub!! Vocab. 1 activity, continue working on Ch. 10 and on common mistakes packet. Journal #1 - write and place in your notebook. You must write a page.
Weds. Vocab. 1 quiz, review Identifying sentence errors and work on grammar practice in yellow book.
Thursday - lab, Vocab. 2 packet, continue with grammar practice from yellow book.
Friday - Vocab. 2, write 2nd essay, practice identifying sentence errors - expect a quiz on Tuesday!
Welcome, seniors, to your last high school English class! I hope that this semester provides you with the necessary tools to be successful in college and beyond. As stated in your syllabus, please take each assignment and deadline seriously. You may continue to bring in your signed syllabus, signed parent letter and $8.00 for vocabulary. Note that you have your first vocabulary quiz on Friday. Bonus: make flashcards for 5 points!
Monday - Intro., go over syllabus and fill out student information sheets. Take critical reading pretest.
Tuesday - Watch Brit lit. movies, vocab. 1, get books??, begin writing sample.
Wednesday - vocab. 1, get to know you activity, intro. notes for Anglo Saxon. Outline pgs. 4-12 in textbook. Due on Friday.
Thursday - vocab. 1, continue Anglo Saxon intro. notes and outlining. Finish presentations
Friday - Vocab. 1 quiz, turn in outline, continue with notes on A/S and Beowulf. Grammar pretest??
Welcome to SAT Prep! I'm excited to get to know you and help you practice and prepare for the SAT. Be sure that you get your notebook set up by Monday, August 18th. Divider information is in your syllabus. Have last sheet of syllabus signed and returned. Note that the following agenda may change as needed.
Monday - Intro., class policies, journal - writing sample.
Tuesday - Take 2 diagnostic tests from the critical reading section. Grade one.
Wednesday - Take 3rd diagnostic test, intro. to vocab., get to know you activity.
Thursday - continue with vocab., introduce the SAT test format, begin working with identifying sentence errors.
Friday - continue with sentence errors, 1st essay.
