SAT Prep - Week of May 19th

Monday - Typed essay is due in class. Journal #7, silent reading, practice??

Final exam is on Thursday. You should review your book and packets on strategies and the types of questions that appear on the English portion of the test.

Brit. Lit. - Week of May 19th

Monday - Final Exam! 4th and 5th periods. Congrats! You have finished! It's been a great semester, and I wish each of you the very best that life has to offer. Keep in touch!

Don't forget graduation practice on Thursday. Park in YOUR spot.

British Lit. - Week of May 12th

Monday - Grammar practice and read "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner". Receive FAQ project that is due on Friday. We will go to the lab on Thursday to work on this. Click below for FAQ project.

Tuesday - Continue with poetry and grammar. Lit. terms #2 quiz - last chance!
Wednesday - Receive exam review. Lit. terms #1 quiz - last chance!
Thursday - Lab (media center) to work on FAQ! It is due tomorrow. No late work accepted.
Friday - Grammar quiz, FAQ due, work on exam review.
You may take a vocab. quiz over units 13, 14, or 15 to replace a vocab. quiz with a low grade.

Please be diligent about make up work. It MUST be completed NO LATER than Weds., May 14th.

SAT Prep - Week of May 12th

Monday - Finish assignments from Thursday and Friday. Complete more practice in blue book.
Tuesday - Write 4th and last essay to be typed in the lab on Wednesday. Journal #6
HW: Students are to get a book to read in class. They will receive a participation grade for reading. It may be any book that is on their level - possibly even summer reading for next year. It may NOT be a book they are currently reading for a class.
Wednesday - Lab - HW: Study for vocab. quiz
Thursday - Vocab. quiz. Time to read.

Brit. Lit. - Week of May 5th

Monday - continue with sonnets - Philip Sidney and introduction to John Donne. Hamlet essays are due today!! Intro. to John Donne (4th), Holy Sonnet 10.
Tuesday - continue working with comma packets, introduction to John Donne, Holy Sonnet 10 and Meditation 17(5th). Comma packets due on Weds. Sonnet Test - moved to Thursday.
Wednesday -Study guide over Sonnets and review. Comma packets due.

NOTE: I am out on Thursday and Friday. I expect that all classes will respect the sub and directions that are left.
Thursday - SONNET TEST. Begin working on sonnet activity. 5th period:From 2:00 - 2:30 pm you will be in the gym for yearbook dedication. HW: Lit. terms quiz on Friday.
Friday -You will continue in groups working on sonnet activity. You may also read in your textbook pages 611-622.

SAT Prep - Week of May 5th

Monday - discuss Saturday's test. Journal #4 - turn in journals 1-4. Continue practice with Improving paragraphs. No vocab. this week!!
Tuesday -Finish practice for long passage - pg. 79. Vocab. activity in groups. Present tomorrow.
Wednesday - Present vocab. stories, work on sentence errors.

NOTE: I am out on Thursday and Friday, and I expect all classes to respect the sub and complete assignments.
Thursday - Begin working on Journal #5. Then, students will attend an orientation/activity in the College and Career Center. Complete reflection and turn in (by Friday).
Friday - Receive and work on vocab. packet for Units 16-18 (quiz on 5/15). Work on 2 practice tests with sentence completion. Look up 10 vocab. words from both practice tests. Turn in.
