Work Experience/Education

I graduated from Georgia State University with a BA in English. I'm certified to teach 7-12 grades. I began my career student teaching at Brookwood High School in Gwinnett County and taught summer school at Norcross High School before coming to Harrison. I am beginning my 11th year as a Hoya!! I've enjoyed teaching ninth grade English, tenth grade English, World Literature, World Literature Honors and British Literature. I've been fortunate at Harrison to meet and interact with many wonderful students. I've sponsored FCA, the George Bush Club and I spent 7 years as an advisor to Harrison's student Council, the WALL, 4 of which were as the head advisor. I truly love to be involved in the lives of kids both in and out of the classroom.

Personal

A native Atlantan, I now live in East Cobb with my husband of 9 years, Joel, and our menagerie of animals. I have 2 golden retrievers, Riley and Romeo, a black lab named Maggie, a black lab named Mickie, and a cat named Sasha. All of the above are joys in my life!! I also enjoy my friends and family, and I like to putter in the garden, read, and bargain shop. Of course, no summer is complete for me without a week at the beach.

I look forward to each class and enjoy the unique students I'm privileged to teach each semester.
