social studies department

Welcome to the Harrison High School Social Studies Department. Our goal is to help students become informed and responsible citizens. In our courses, we provide our students with a social, geographical, and historical framework for understanding cultures and governments on a state, national, and global level. Students also have the opportunity to study human social behavior as well as psychology, economics, environmental issues, and politics.

Civic Engagement Diploma Seal

The state of Georgia is offering a civic engagement diploma seal to graduating seniors who meet certain requirements in coursework, knowledge of American government, community service, and civic engagement activities. Information on the seal is available online.
